Ashley BakerSep 8, 2025
If the LCD screen is blank on your RKI Instruments Gas Detector, first, ensure the unit is turned on by pressing and briefly holding the POWER ENTER RESET button. If it still doesn't turn on, the alkaline batteries may need replacement, or the Ni-MH batteries need recharging. Replace the alkaline batteries or recharge the Ni-MH batteries.

Why does auto calibration fail on my RKI Instruments Gas Detectors?
J
Jennifer AlexanderSep 12, 2025
If auto calibration or single calibration fails on your RKI Instruments Gas Detectors, check all calibration tubing for leaks or bad connections. The charcoal filter might be saturated, causing an elevated CO reading, so replace it. Ensure the EAGLE 2 is properly set up for calibration. Verify the calibration cylinder contains an adequate supply of fresh test sample. If the problem persists, the sensor for the affected channel(s) may need replacement.

frankmayoSep 15, 2025
If your RKI Instruments Gas Detectors indicates a flow failure that doesn't recover after pressing the POWER ENTER RESET button, inspect the probe tube for obstructions. Also, check the hydrophobic filter disk in the probe and replace it if dirty. Inspect the sample hose for kinks or obstructions and replace if necessary. Finally, inspect the internal hydrophobic filter and replace it if it's dirty. The pump may be malfunctioning.
