3. Press the [LIST] button.
The folders inside the USB ash drives SONG LIST folder are shown.
SONG LIST :
SONG1
4. Use the VALUE [-] [+] buttons to select the folder that you
want to play.
In this example, you can choose from SONG1, SONG2, and SONG3.
5. Press the [ENTER] button.
The audio les in the selected folder are automatically assigned to the pads
in descending order. For example if you choose the SONG1 folder, the les
are assigned as shown in the illustration.

6. Press one of the PAD [1]–[6].
The assigned audio plays.
* Up to six audio les can be assigned.
* If you want to use seven or more audio les, divide them into groups of
six in separate folders, and assign each group as needed.
* The XPS-10 itself does not provide a way for you to change how audio
les are assigned to the pads.
* You can use your computer to edit the names of the audio les.
Using the Pads
NOTE
Loop settings can’t be made for an MP3 le.
If you want to make loop settings, use your computer to convert the le
to a WAV or AIFF le before you import it.
Operation Explanation
Play back Press one of the PAD [1]–[6].
Stop
Press a currently-playing pad.
To resume playback from the location at which
you stopped, hold down the [LIST] button and
press the same pad.
Move to the beginning
[SHIFT] + PAD [1]
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press PAD [1].
Rewind
[SHIFT] + PAD [2]
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and hold down
PAD [2].
Fast-forward
[SHIFT] + PAD [3]
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and hold down
PAD [3].
Loop settings (*1)
(repeat playback)
[LOOP] + PAD [1]–[6]
Press the [LOOP] button.
Looping is enabled for the currently selected
pad.
The [LOOP] button lights.

Loop settings (*1)
(loop a region of the le)
1. [SHIFT]+[LOOP] (start point)
2. [SHIFT]+[LOOP] (end point)
Setting the Start point:
While the le plays, hold down the [SHIFT]
button and press the [LOOP] button.
Setting the End point:
Once again, hold down the [SHIFT] button and
press the [LOOP] button.

Loop region
When the End Point is set, playback repeats over
the Start–End region that you specied.
If a le with a specied loop region is played
from the beginning, it will play until the End
point and then start looping over the loop
region.
* If, after specifying the loop region, you want
to change the setting so that the entire le
loops, hold down the [LOOP] button and
press the pad whose setting you want to
change.
Adjusting the Start Point
(*1)
[SHIFT]+[LOWER/2] slider
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and move the
[LOWER/2] slider.
This applies a +/-
adjustment, with the
center of the slider
corresponding to the
value that you initially
specied.
Adjusting the End Point
(*1)
[SHIFT]+[UPPER/1] slider
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and move the
[UPPER/1] slider.
This applies a +/-
adjustment, with the
center of the slider
corresponding to the
value that you initially
specied.
Playing the next pad
To switch immediately:
Press one of the PAD [1]–[6].
To switch after playback has ended:
Hold down the currently-playing pad, and press
the pad that you want to play next.
Center Cancel
[SHIFT] + PAD [4]
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press PAD [4].
Sounds that are heard from the center (vocals or
melodic instrument sounds) will be minimized.
* For some songs, the vocals might not be
reduced very much.
Adjusting the tempo
[SHIFT] + PAD [5]
Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press PAD [5]
to access the TEMPO screen.
Use the VALUE [-] [+] buttons to adjust the value.
* Even if an audio le is selected, the tempo
setting appears and you can change the
value, but the tempo will not change. The
tempo can be changed only for an internal
rhythm pattern.
Adjusting the volume
(volume of all pads)
Move the [AUDIO PAD] slider.
*1 Loop settings for each audio le are automatically saved in the SONG
LIST folder. If you move an audio le to a dierent folder, the loop
settings will be preserved if you move the settings le as well.
MEMO
The les inside the folder are
shown in alpha-numeric
order, and the rst six les
are assigned.
