Column pipe clamps.
Chain tongs (for threaded bowl assemblies).
Hook chain or cable sling.
A set of Millwright’s Tools
Collet driver and shaft locating plug (special tools for bowl assembly).
Protective compound for all threaded connections.
4.3. LIFTING PUMP TO A VERTICAL STANCE
In order to lift the pump to a vertical stance for installation purposes, follow one of these two
options:
4.3.1 Two Crane Method
When two lifting cranes are available, ropes or slings must be attached to each crane and then onto
the lifting lugs on the discharge nozzle and around the middle of the bowl assembly, as shown below:

Lift the pump off the wooden support skid. After lifting the pump with the two cranes to an
appropriate height, the crane whose rope or sling is attached around the middle of the bowl
assembly must be slowly lowered while the crane whose ropes or slings is attached to the lifting lugs
