5. When disassembling the pump, match mark, tag or otherwise identify all parts, and
provide separate containers for small parts. Refer to the sectional drawing of the pump
included in SECTION TEN - PARTS INFORMATION for the correct identification of the parts.
6. Disconnect seal water lines (if used). Remove oiler piping on oil lube pumps.
7. Remove the plugs from the nozzle head.
8. Remove the strainer from the lower part of the suction bowl.
9. Remove the coupling guard from the nozzle head.
10. Remove the grease fitting from the nozzle head.
11. Remove the mechanical seal following these steps:
a. Untighten and remove the hex nuts from the studs that secure the mechanical seal
gland to the nozzle head.
b. Remove the studs that fix the mechanical seal gland in place in the nozzle head.
c. Remove the mechanical seal gland from the nozzle head.
d. Remove the mechanical seal from the stuffing box.
12. Untighten and remove the hex bolts that secure the stuffing box to the nozzle head.
13. Remove the stuffing box from the nozzle head.
14. Remove the bushing from the stuffing box.
15. Remove the gasket from the nozzle head.
16. Untighten and remove the hex bolts that secure the nozzle head to the last column pipe.
17. Remove the nozzle head from the top of the last column pipe.
18. Remove the shaft from the bushing carrier assembly and the column pipe.
19. Remove the bushing carrier assembly from the column pipe.
20. Remove the shaft sleeve from the intermediate column bushing.
21. Remove the column bushing from the bushing carrier.
22. Untighten and remove the hex nuts that secure the column pipe to the intermediate bowl
assembly (or column pipe in case your pump is equipped with more the one column pipe).
23. Remove the hex bolts that fix the column pipe to the intermediate bowl assembly (or to
the column pipe in case your pump is equipped with more than one column pipe).
24. Remove the column pipe from the last intermediate bowl (or previous column pipe in case
your pump is equipped with more than one column pipe).
25. Remove the shaft bushing from the impeller’s shaft.
26. In case your pump is equipped with more than one column pipe, repeat steps 18 thru 25
to remove any additional column pipes.
