9 Servicing
The work described in this chapter is to be
performed only by personnel appropriately
qualied to carry out such tasks.
The following documents are also required
for servicing the valve:
− Mounting and operating instructions for
the mounted actuator, for example:
− uEB8310-1 for Type3271 and
Type3277 Pneumatic Actuators with
120cm² actuator area
− uEB8310-4 for Type3271 and
Type3277 Pneumatic Actuators with
355v2cm² actuator area
− uEB8310-5 for Type3271 and
Type3277 Pneumatic Actuators with
175v2, 350v2 and 750v2cm² actu-
ator areas
− uEB8310-6 for Type3271 and
Type3277 Pneumatic Actuators with
240, 350 and 700cm² actuator ar-
eas
− uEB8313-1 for Type3372 Electro-
pneumatic Actuator with integrated
i/p converter
− uEB8313-3 for Type3372 Electro-
pneumatic Actuator with 120 and
350cm² actuator areas and
Type3725 Positioner
− uEB8315 for Type3379 Pneumatic
Actuator
Risk of bursting due to incorrect opening of
pressurized equipment or components.
Valves and pipelines are pressure equipment
that may burst when handled incorrectly.
Flying projectile fragments or the release of
process medium under pressure can cause
serious injury or even death.
Before working on the control valve:
Î Depressurize all plant sections affected
and the valve (including the actuator).
Release any stored energy.
Î Drain the process medium from the plant
sections affected as well as from the
valve.
Risk of burn injuries due to hot or cold com-
ponents and pipeline.
Valve components and the pipeline may be-
come very hot or cold. Risk of burn injuries.
Î Allow components and pipelines to cool
down or warm up to the ambient tem-
perature.
Î Wear protective clothing and safety
gloves.
Risk of hearing loss or deafness due to loud
noise.
Noise emission (e.g. cavitation or ashing)
may occur during operation caused by the
process medium and the operating condi-
tions. Additionally, a loud noise may briey
occur through the sudden venting of the
