Motor
Elastomer Bushing
Inspection
Check to see if the Elastomer Bushing is worn or damaged.
Presence of excessive particles of elastomer material
indicates that replacement is necessary. See Figure 13–3.
Removal
1. Make sure the PT is powered off, unplugged, and the
batteries have been removed.
2. Pull the Elastomer Bushing off the motor coupling.
Installation
Tools Required: Cotton swabs
Ammonia
Isopropyl alcohol
1. Use cotton swabs to clean all residue from the motor
coupling and cavity. First use ammonia or ammonia-
based window cleaner, then isopropyl alcohol, to
remove the residue.
2. Align the new Elastomer Bushing with the coupling,
making sure the tabs go on first. See Figure 13–4.
CAUTION!
Do not remove the coupling from the Motor. If
damaged, replace the entire Motor assembly.
If the Motor assembly is modified, the PT could
malfunction causing injury or damage to property.
3. Perform post-service tests (page A–1).
