Why won't my Segway x2 SE power on?
    • J
      Jennifer KelleyJul 25, 2025
If your Segway Scooter won't power on, ensure the batteries are charged. Also, make sure the InfoKey Controller is within 15 ft (5 m) of the scooter. Tap the Power/Standby button on the InfoKey Controller and check for the Link Signal icon. If there's no icon or the display is blank, remove and reseat the InfoKey Battery. If the display remains blank, replace the InfoKey Controller Battery. If a Warning icon appears, consult 'Startup Error Conditions'. As a last resort, remove and reattach both PT Batteries.

      Heather PerezJul 30, 2025
If your Segway Scooter won't power down, check that the mats are not sticking to the powerbase. If a mat is sticking, lift it to release it. Press and hold the Power/Standby button on the InfoKey Controller for two seconds to confirm the problem is resolved. Also, check that your InfoKey Controller Battery is not fully depleted or damaged. If reseating the InfoKey Controller Battery doesn't work and you don't have a replacement, switch to Standby Mode. Leave the scooter in a secure location for 15 minutes to automatically power down. You may also need to install a new InfoKey Controller Battery. After the scooter powers down, reinstall the mat. Tap the Power/Standby button to power on, then press and hold to confirm the issue is resolved.

If your Segway Scooter won't enter Balance Mode, first confirm that the power is on. Make sure the LeanSteer Frame/Handlebar Assembly is centered and the Powerbase is level. Ensure there is no weight on the mats. Check that the center Balance Indicator light is green and the other four are not illuminated.
