If you see 'LINE ERROR' on your Sharp Fax Machine display, try the transaction again. If it continues, check the connection, ensuring the cord from the TEL. LINE socket to the wall is no longer than two meters. Ensure no modem devices share the line. Verify the other fax machine is working and check your telephone line for noise. Try a different telephone line. If the problem persists, your fax machine may need service.

If your Sharp Fax Machine's power is on but no transmission occurs, ensure the receiving machine has paper. Check that the telephone line cord is plugged into the TEL. LINE socket, not the TEL. SET socket. If the receiving machine is in manual mode without an attendant, reception won't be possible. Check the display for error messages and pick up the handset to check for a dial tone.
