ADDING TONER
The message “TONER SUPPLY IS LOW” will appear in the message
display before the toner supply is completely empty. Copying can be
continued until the message display changes to “ADD TONER”, indi-
cating that the toner supply is empty. Toner can be added any time
after the message “TONER SUPPLY IS LOW” appears. To add ton-
er, stop the copier and proceed as below. For best copying results,
be sure to use only SHARP products.
NOTE:
During long copy runs of multiple dark originals, “TONER REPLEN-
ISHMENT IN PROGRESS” will appear and the copier will stop mak-
ing copies even though toner is left.
After a sufficient amount of toner has been fed, the START indicator
will light.
Press the START key to resume copying.
Lift up the RADF tray.
●
Remove any originals in the RADF tray before lifting it up.
Open the toner hopper cover.
NOTE:
Do not press down on the open toner hopper cover.
Hold the toner cartridge horizontally and vigorously
shake it lengthwise about 20 times to loosen the toner.
This will allow the toner to flow more easily into the
toner hopper.
Place the new toner cartridge with the tabs in the
notches as shown.
Slide the toner cartridge along the guides over the
toner hopper.
Hold the toner cartridge with one hand while pulling on
the sealing tape to remove it.
Tap on the top of the toner cartridge 5 times to release
all toner into the toner hopper.
●
It will take about 30 seconds for the toner to flow into the toner
hopper. Do not remove the toner cartridge until it is empty.
Slide the empty toner cartridge back along the guides
and remove it.
●
The cartridge will be re-covered as it is moved back along the
guides.
Close the toner hopper cover and reposition the RADF
tray.
NOTE:
Add only one cartridge of toner.
