1. FRONT AXLE REMOVAL
NOTE : Check axle end play before removal from the
tractor.
1. Set the park brake on the tractor for safety.
2. Lift the tractor hood, and disconnect the negative
(-) battery cable, 1, from the battery.
3. Remove the side engine covers from the tractor.
4. Loosen and remove the exhaust pipe mounting bolt,
1, and pipe clamp, 2. Remove the exhaust pipe.
5. Remove the steering hose fastener, 3, from the
tractor.
6. Loosen the steering hose couplers, 1, from the
mount, 2. Loosen and remove the power steering
lines from the couplers.
7. Slide the couplers out of the mount, and plug all
openings.
8. Use a suitable floor jack, and raise the front of the
tractor.
9. Place two jack stands under the frame rails toward
the center of the tractor.
10. Lower the jack so the frame is resting on the jack
stands.
