4 Installation
4.1 Preparing support unit
A support unit/mounting plate must be prepared to mount the protection hood. Observe
dimensions.

For mounting position 1 (to the rear, see Chapter 4.2 Mounting plate, page 16), an opening
must be provided for the supply connection of the M12 4-pin A-coded male connector.
The male connector requires an opening in the customer object (machine/wall) with a
diameter of at least 45 mm.
CAUTION Hazard due to hand injuries caused by crushing
▸ During the entire installation phase, the MICS3/OS3 electr. protection hood is
disconnected from the voltage.
