6 Commissioning
6.1 Alignment
Alignment with foreground suppression
Align the sensor with the background. You must ensure that the optical opening (front
screen) of the sensor is completely clear [see figure 3].

6.2 Check the application conditions
WTF12L/WTF12V are photoelectric proximity sensors with foreground suppression. The
photoelectric proximity sensor requires a background as a reference. The remission
factor and position of the background should remain as uniform as possible. The
maximum distance (x) between the photoelectric proximity sensor and background as
well as the minimum object height (y) must be upheld. As a rule, a WTF12L/WTF12V is
used to detect very flat objects on a conveyor belt.
