NOTE:
Depending on the number of binary input, the sleep mode current will increase if the binary input is connected and
energized in the sleep mode.
3.12 Binary Outputs
7SR45 self powered overcurrent and earth fault relay consists of 2 binary output which can be configured to send
commands to the switchgear units and annunciations for remote signalling of the important events and status.
3.12.1 Binary Output Matrix
Binary output can be assigned to any available functions under OUTPUT CONFIG > OUTPUT MATRIX menu.
3.12.2 Self Reset/Hand Reset
In the default mode of operation, binary outputs are self reset. If required, the outputs can be programmed to
operate as ‘hand reset’. However, the hand reset functionality is applicable for protection trip signals, IRF signal,
and BI signals only.
All the supervisory signals such as low battery, general pick up, and protection healthy are always of self reset
type.
By default, the Binary Output 1 will be mapped to IRF function and it will be programmed as 'hand reset".
In the self reset condition, binary output will reset if the input current drops below the sensitivity level.
3.12.3 Binary Output Configuration
If the binary output is configured for protection trip or binary input operations it will act as “hand reset”.
If the binary output is configured for other functions such as general pickup, protection healthy, and
low battery, it will act as “self reset”.
