3 Safety Instructions
To observe before putting into operation
Please read through the brochure provided carefully. It contains important information about the
installation, the use and safety of the equipment.
Special notices
Three kinds of specic notices are used in the operating manual to emphasise important
information.
WARNING
In the context of this operating manual it means that death, serious bodily harm or extensive
damage to property can be inicted if the relevant precautionary measures are not taken.
CAREFUL
In the context of this operating manual it means that light bodily harm or damage to property can
result if the relevant precautionary measures are not taken.
NOTICE
In the context of this operating manual it is an important piece of information about the product or
the respective part of the operating manual to which special attention is drawn.
3.1 General safety instructions
WARNING
Only relevantly qualied staff should work on or in the vicinity of this equipment. This staff must
be thoroughly acquainted with all warnings and notices as well as with the functions of the door
control unit AT18 according to this operating manual.
Qualied staff in the context of this operating manual, or the warning notices, are persons who are
acquainted with the setting-up, assembly, putting into operation and operating of the product,
and who holds relevant qualications in their professions, as for example:
– Training or instruction, or authorisation, to switch electric circuits and equipment/systems on and
off according to safety technology standards.
– Training or instruction in the maintenance and use of appropriate safety equipment according to
safety technology standards.
– Training in rst aid.
The faultless and safe operation of this equipment requires appropriate transport, professional
storage, setting-up and assembly as well as careful operation and maintenance. All electrical
connections must be inspected for secure contact before the putting into operation.
During work on the door actuator it has to be disconnected form the power supply mains by
unplugging the power plug.
