4.14 Upright stand pipes
In some cavities or shafts, lines or cables obstruct the free flow of air to the
aspirating holes in the pipes. Therefore there must be no aspirating holes in the
pipes in these locations.
Upright stand pipes are the best way of aspirating the air here.

4.15 Aspirating holes
The diameters of the aspirating holes and the holes in the end caps are calculated
using the software 'FXS2056 ASD Asyst‑Tool V3' in order to achieve balanced
airflow in the pipe system.
Aspirating holes in pipes
Aspirating holes in pipes have a diameter of approximately 3mm.
Aspirating holes in end caps
The size of the aspirating holes in the end caps adjusts the airflows of the
individual pipes to each other.
Exception: End caps on upright stand pipes do not have any holes.
