7. Startup
Observe the instructions in section 3, "Safety instructions"!
The gear unit must not be started up, if the required instructions are not available.
7.1 Procedure before startup
7.1.1 Removal of preservative agent
The location of the oildraining points is marked by an appropriate symbol in the dimensioned drawing in
the gearunit documentation (see item 5.2).
Oildraining point:
• Place suitable containers under the oildraining points.
• If necessary connect a maintenance hose.
• Unscrew the oildrain plug or open the oildrain cock.
• Remove remaining preservative agent and/or runningin oil from the gear unit using a suitable
container, unscrew any existing residualoil drain plugs, to do so.
• Dispose of remaining preservative and/or runningin oil in accordance with regulations.
Any oil spillage must be removed immediately with an oilbinding agent.
The oil must not come into contact with the skin (e.g. the operator’s hands).
The safety notes on the data sheets for the oil used must be observed here!
• Screw in oildrain plug or reclose oildrain cock.
• Close any unscrewed residualoil drain plugs again.
