Probe
Potential for damage in each application governs the minimum gap allowable. Maximum gap
for operation is 102 mm (4 inch), optimum 25 to 50 mm (1 to 2 inch).

Screw Conveyors
The probe should be located at the idler end (usually feed end)
Arrows indicate permissible placement range of the probe
A ferrous mass added behind the flight of a screw conveyor, where it passes the probe aids
Borderline Operation. This mass must be added for all non-ferrous screws.
