7 Configuration
After you have installed the DMS8000 and Composer software, you must configure
the DMS8000 system (follow the product-specific
Installation Function &
Configuration Commissioning Guide
).
Once that is done, you perform the configuration procedures to get the NK8000
units communicating with the DMS8000 system.
For configuration details, see the DMS8000 connectivity guides:
Network
Connectivity Guide

Fire Connectivity Guide

Intrusion Connectivity Guide
(A6V10359489).
Note: You should have all hardware installed at the client site (such as control
units, all cables, wiring, and so on) before you perform the procedures in this
section.
7.1 Configuration checklist
Before proceeding with the configuration checklist below, verify that you have
satisfied the items needed in the first checklist.

Service PC, with Cat. 5 crossed twisted pair cable (if configuring at client’s site)

DMS Connectivity Guides (CG) Network, Fire and Intrusion
DMS Connectivity Guides Access Control and Video Connectivity (if applicable)
Configuring NK8000
1. Configure the DMS8000 system and the NK8000 network with Composer (see
DMS-ICC, DMS-CG).
2. Launch NW8202.
3. Configure [➙ 55] the NK82xx IP address(es) via NW8202.
4. Install [➙ 33] the NK82xx, connect subsystems and network to NK82xx.
5. Contact the Service Centre to download the configuration to the NK82xx from
remote via Composer. FTP or Secure download modes can be applied (see
CG).
6. Test [ 59] the configuration.
