Wiindows XP MUI with English menus and dialogs and a US keyboard is installed
on your device when delivered. You can set another language and keyboard via
the control panel with the dialog Start >Control Panel > Date, Time, Language,
and Regional Options > Add other languages tab ”Languages”, box
”Language used in menus and dialogs”.
In addition to the language for menus and dialogs, you also have to set the
standard for non-Unicode programs for Date, Time and Regional Options via
Advanced.
8.7 Installing the SIMATIC Software
You received the “Backup PG” DVD with the product package that comes with your
PG. The Backup CD contains the data base for the STEP 5 Basics package (not
included in all delivered versions), STEP 7 and STEP 7-Micro/WIN and for the
PG’s electronic manuals.
To reinstall these program packages, insert the DVD “Backup PG” in the CD-ROM
drive. Run Setup by clicking the “ SIMATIC Setup” icon or by clicking “Setup.exe”
in the “SIMATIC Software” directory. Setup will guide you through the installation.
The License Key Disk with the authorizations and License Keys necessary for the
use of SIMATIC software is only delivered with versions containing the
corresponding SIMATIC software.
The installation of the authorizations or the activation of the License Keys is
described in Section 3.4.1 “Cold Start of the Field PG P4”.
