5.1.5 LTMFAST_AppDownload: Load TM FAST application into the flash memory
Description
The LTMFAST_AppDownload instruction enables you to load the TM FAST application into the
flash memory of the TM FAST via your user program of the CPU S7-1500. There are two
alternatives available:
• Loading the TM FAST application from an upd file in the "UserFiles" directory on the
SIMATIC Memory Card
or
• Load the TM FAST application from a data block
LTMFAST_AppDownload transfers the TM FAST application into the non-volatile flash
memory of the addressed TM FAST. You must then load the TM FAST application from flash
memory into the FPGA and activate it. Use the LTMFAST_ControlREC (Page 31) instruction for
this.
During a module exchange you may ensure that a newly installed TM FAST is loaded with the
correct TM FAST application: During the startup of the CPU, you can check with the
LTMFAST_ControlREC (Page 31) instruction whether the TM FAST application with the correct
application ID is in the module. If there is no TM FAST application or one with an incorrect
application ID in the flash memory, it is loaded and activated in the FPGA with
LTMFAST_AppDownload into the flash memory and with LTMFAST_ControlREC (Page 31).
This enables you to exchange a module without a PG/PC.
You can generate the upd file and the data block with the software MFCT V1.5 or higher
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109773881).
FAST application into the flash memory with LTMFAST_AppDownload may
take several minutes. The TM
FAST application can be loaded much faster via the
commissioning editor or via MFCT.
Operating principle
During normal operation, the instruction reads the respective TM FAST application from the
upd file on the SIMATIC Memory Card or from the data block and loads it into the flash
memory of the TM FAST.
