Diagnostic alarms
The diagnostics are displayed as plain text in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) in the online and diagnostics
view. You can evaluate the error codes with the user program. System-wise, the module is
modeled with only one channel containing all terminals. Therefore, "Channel 0" is always
indicated in the diagnostic message independent of the terminal from which the respective
diagnostic starts.
Note
"Channel 0" means the entire module in the diagnostics. In the description of the front
connector and the logic, however, "Channel" refers to an RS485/TTL channel.
The following diagnostics can be signaled:

• Error at digital outputs (LED DQm display
lights up red)
• Possible causes:
– Short-circuit
–
• Correct wiring at the digital outputs
• Check consumers connected to the
digital outputs
H
• Error at the connection of an RS485/TTL
channel
• Possible causes:
– Wire break
– No encoder connected
– Cable too long
– Short-circuit
– Overload
– External voltage
– Overtemperature

Parameter assignment error
• Check process wiring
• Check encoder/sensor
• Check parameter assignment
