8.1 Requirements
Hardware and software requirements
You will find the hardware and software requirements for operating S7-1500R/H redundant
systems in the section Requirements (Page 72).
NOTE
Consistency check
If you configure the STEP 7 project as topology, the consistency is then checked by STEP 7. An
incorrect configuration is indicated by error messages.
8.2 Configuring R/H CPUs
Introduction
The following section guides you step by step through the configuration of the R-CPUs for a
S7-1500R redundant system. The procedure for the project engineering of H-CPUs in
S7-1500H is identical to the project engineering of R-CPUs.
Requirements
The configuration detailed assumes that:

You have set the IP address of the PG/PC.
1. Creating a project and R-CPUs

Create a new project in STEP7. Give the project a name.
2.
Select CPU 1515R-2PN from the hardware catalog in the network view of the hardware
configuration.
3.
Drag and drop the CPU to the task window in the network view.
