3.3.2.1 Design of the thyristor modules
Modules with six arms (B6C connection) are used for the converter. The thyristors in the
modules of system 2 are arranged in a mirror image to the thyristors in the modules of system 1.

The clamped thyristor stack comprises x thyristors ④ in "press-pack enclosure" and x
+1 heatsinks ③.

The clamped thyristor assembly is pressed together by a set of springs ② with a clamping
screw ① in such a way as to achieve the required contact force. The purpose of the heatsinks
is to dissipate heat losses.
