3.3.2.1 Design of the thyristor modules
Modules with six arms (B6C connection) are used for the converter. The thyristors in the
modules of system 2 are arranged in a mirror image to the thyristors in the modules of system 1.
Clamped thyristor stack for number of thyristors connected in series 1, 2 and 4
The clamped thyristor stack comprises x thyristors in "press-pack enclosure" and x
+1 heatsinks .
Figure 3-2 Clamped thyristor stack with 2 connected in series
The clamped thyristor assembly is pressed together by a set of springs with a clamping
screw in such a way as to achieve the required contact force. The purpose of the heatsinks
is to dissipate heat losses.
