7.11 Replacing the commutator
1) Turn the machine off and unplug it.
2) Remove the swarf tray.
3) Pull out the commutator (C) knob (C1) and loosen the 2 fixing screws (C2) (fig.36).
4) Turn the machine onto its back side.
5) Loosen the 7 screws (W) and 2 feet (W1) and remove the bottom safety plate (W2) (fig.31, pag.24).
6) Pull the commutator (C3) downwards and disconnect the wires from their connections in order to
remove (fig.37).
Pay attention to their position .
7) Connect the wires to the new commutator.
8) Push into its seat and fix with the 2 screws (C2) (fig.36).
9) Replace the bottom safety plate, fix with the 7 screws (W) and 2 feet.
10) Place the machine upright again. Fit the swarf tray.
11) Fit the commutator knob (C1).
