Why does my Silca Idea display ‘TEMPERATURE ALARM - turn the machine off’?
    • L
      Lisa BallAug 3, 2025
If the display shows 'TEMPERATURE ALARM', start by checking if the fan on the back of the Silca Cutter is working. This message may appear if the fan is faulty or the electronic control board is faulty, so checking the fan's functionality is the first step.

What to do if my Silca Idea machine is on, with no message on its display?
    • K
      Keith HuberAug 10, 2025
If the Silca Cutter machine is on but the display is blank, the suggested solution is to check if the back fan is working. The possible causes are: the emergency button may be activated, the general fuses in the power socket may be faulty, fuse F3 on the electronic control board may be faulty, the connection wire between the display and electronic circuit board may be loose, or the display itself may be defective.

Why is the cutter motor not working on my Silca Idea?
    • F
      Francisco OwensAug 17, 2025
If the cutter motor of your Silca Cutter is not working, it could be due to several reasons. The closed protective shield might not be making proper contact with the safety microswitch, the F1 fuse on the electronic control board could be faulty, the motor wire may not be properly attached to the connector, the electronic control board may be defective, or the motor cut-off may have been activated due to inappropriate or heavy use. In any of these cases, you should call Technical Silca Dept. to determine the cause of activation of the cut-off.

What does it mean when my Silca Cutter displays ‘CUTTER MOTOR ALARM - check fuse F1’?
    • J
      Joseph FoxAug 26, 2025
If the display of your Silca Cutter shows ‘CUTTER MOTOR ALARM - check fuse F1’, it could be due to a faulty F1 fuse on the electronic control board, the cutter microswitch on the protective cover being triggered or disconnected, disconnected cutter motor wiring, or an internal fault on the electronic control board.
