Settinguptransceiverchannels

Inordertorecorddatatheprocessorunitmustbeconnectedtooneormoretransceivers.

Thesemustinturnbeconnectedtooneormoretransducers.Thiscommunicationconnection

iscalledachannel.Eachchannelmustbeinstalledbeforeitcanbeputtouse.Inthiscontext,

thephrasechannelisusedasacommontermtoidentifythecombinationoftransceiver,

transducerandoperatingfrequency.

Prerequisites

•TheEK80systemisinstalledasspeciedintheInstallationManual.Allunitsare

turnedon.

•Thesoftwarelicenseforeachtransceiverisinstalledandactivated.

•TheEthernetadapterintheProcessorUnitissetupwithauniqueIPaddress.

•AllrelevanttransducersareinstalledusingtheTransducerInstallationpage.

Context

TheTransceiverInstallationparameterscontroltheinstallationanddisconnectionof

transceivers.Everytimethepageisopened,theEK80systemsoftwareautomatically

performsasearchontheEthernetnetworkfortransceivers.

Procedure

1OntheSetupmenu,selectInstallation.

2OntheleftsideoftheInstallationdialogbox,selectTransceiver.

3Installthechannels(s).

aForeachchannel,choosewhichtransducertoconnectto.

Thelistoftransducersavailableforinstallationisdenedbythoseyouinstalled

ontheTransducerpage.

Thisisacriticaltask.Makesurethatthecorrecttransducerisselected.
