2. Remove the pin keeper at the pin #1 of the slave
cylinder, tap the pin out using a brass drift and
wooden hammer.
3. Remove the pin keeper at the pin #2, and tap the
pin out using a brass drift and wooden hammer.
4. Use suitable lifting equipment to detach the jib
boom assembly from the main boom.
5. Remove the pin keepers at the pins #3 and #4, and
tap the pins #3 and #4 out using a brass drift and
wooden hammer.
6. Remove the pin keepers at the pins #5 and #6, and
tap the pins #5 and #6 out using a brass drift and
wooden hammer.
7. Remove the pin keeper at the pin #7 of jib lift
cylinder, and tap the pins #7 and #4 out using a
brass drift and wooden hammer.
Inspection
NOTICE
When inspecting the pins and bearings, please
reference Pins and composite bearing, page 4-5.
• Inspect the pins of jib boom for wear, abrasion,
tapering, ovality or other damages, and replace the
pins if necessary.
• Inspect the inner ring of the bearing at jib boom pin
for scratch, deformation, wear or other damages,
and replace the bearing if necessary.
• Inspect the jib lift cylinder connnecting pin for wear,
scratch, tapering, ovality or other damages, ensure
the pin surface has been properly treated, if
necessary, replace the pin.
• Inspect the inner ring of the bearing at the swing
motor pin for scratch, deformation, wear or other
damages, and replace the bearing if necessary.
• Inspect all threaded parts for damages like
elongation, thread deformation or torsion, and
replace if necessary.
• Inspect the structures of of jib boom assembly for
bending, cracks, weld separation or other damages,
if necessary, replace the jib boom.
Assembly
1. Align the connecting hole of jib boom with that of jib
lift cylinder,use a soft head wooden hammer to
strike the pin #7 of jib lift cylinder into the jib boom,
then secure the pin with a pin keeper.
2. Align the connecting hole of jib boom with that of
platform swing cylinder,use a soft head wooden
hammer to strike the pins #5 and #6 into the jib
boom, then secure the pins with pin keepers.
3. Align the connecting hole of the connector with that
of jib boom,use a soft head wooden hammer to
strike the pins #3 and #4 into the jib boom, then
secure the pins with pin keepers.
4. Align the connecting hole of main boom with that of
connector, use a soft head wooden hammer to
strike the pin #2 into the jib boom, then secure the
pin with a pin keeper.
5. Align the connecting hole of connector with that of
slave cylinder, use a soft head wooden hammer to
strike the pin #1 of slave cylinder into the connector,
then secure the pin with a pin keeper.
Platform Level Cylinder
MOVING OBJECT HAZARD
Wear eye protection when tapping
the brass drift with wooden hammer.
NOTICE
When removing the cylinder, special care should be
taken to avoid the fall of the cylinder and component
damage.
The machine is configured with 2 platform level
cylinders located at the boom upper end (slave
cylinder) and lower end (master cylinder).
The platform level cylinder ensures the platform is
always kept horizontal relative to the turntable within
the whole range of boom motion.
1. Extend the boom until the platform level cylinder
rod-end pin is accessible.
2. Slightly raise the boom and place a support under
the platform.
3. Lower the boom until the platform sits on the
support. Take special care not to press the total
weight of boom over the support.
4. Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic lines to the
platform level cylinder, and cap the fittings.
5. Remove the retaining screw from the rod-end pin
#1 of the platform level cylinder. And do not move
the pin.
