SKF Multilog On-line System IMx-16Plus
User Manual
Revision Letter A
51 (66)
Software controlled power supply for standard accelerometers
o 4 mA constant current (2,23 mA for channels 9 to 16)
o On/off control, individual per channel
Channels 9 to 16 can connect to additional sensor types
o PT1000, temperature probes (2-wire connection)
o Temperature coefficient: 0,00385 Ω/(Ω °C)
o Sense current: 2,23 mA nominal
Impedance >100 kΩ
Analogue input voltage range without damage to the IMx is ±28 V
3.2.4 Digital inputs
Four digital inputs, non-isolated, referenced to chassis/enclosure ground
o Accepts positive voltages: up to 24V
Contact SKF for advice if the digital signal may exceed +27 V
o Trigger level: 2,9 V, Hysteresis 0,1 V, Impedance 1,6 kΩ
Can interface to:
o Common 2- or 3-wire speed sensors
o On-line oil debris sensor (Gastops MetalSCAN)
24 V DC sensor supply, maximum, peak demand up to 30 mA per channel
o Peak current demand from the sensor should be no greater than the
limit stated, even if the average demand (e.g. per shaft rotation
period) is less
3.2.5 Digital outputs
Three relay driver outputs
System status (RS), Warning and Alarm (R1 and R2)
24 V DC at 70 mA maximum, available (all, not per relay)
Minimum individual coil resistances: 345 (1 relay), 690 (2 relays) and
1035 Ω (if 3 relays are in use)
3.2.6 Analogue measurement
24-bit A/D conversion
o Enables continuous data capture without gain or AC/DC switching
One A/D converter for each channel
o Simultaneous measurements of all 16 channels (no multiplexing)
o Different channels can operate at different sampling rates
Maximum sampling frequency: 102,4 kHz (though lower for event capture)
Frequency range: from DC to 40 kHz
Dynamic range: 120 dB
Signal to noise ratio: 90 dB
Crosstalk rejection: −110 dB (at 1 kHz)
Amplitude accuracy: ±2% (up to 20 kHz), ±5% (20 to 40 kHz)
Phase accuracy: ±3° (up to 100 Hz)
Automatic detection of sensor fault and cable fault (software configurable)
For PT1000 temperature sensors on channels 9 to 16:
o Temperature measurement range: 50 to +100 °C (−58 to +212 °F)
o Accuracy: ±4 °C (excluding cable influence)
