Troubleshooting
General
Our quality control program assures that each inverter is manufactured to exact
specifications and is thoroughly tested before leaving the factory. If you encounter
difficulty with the operation of your inverter, please follow the steps below in an
effort to correct the problem.
• Check the blinking code of the LED display and compare it to the descriptions in Sec-
tion 6: Commissioning.
• Check and record the exact "Mode" and/or "Error" messages on the LCD display or
other communication system available. Take appropriate action to correct the issue.
• If necessary, check the DC and AC voltages at terminals inside the inverter. Be sure
to observe all of the safety precautions listed throughout this manual when doing so,
or hire a qualified professional.

In order to better assist you when contacting SMA America, please provide the
following information. This information is required for service assistance.
Information Regarding the Sunny Boy:
• Serial number
• Model Number
• Short description of the problem
• Blinking Code or display message
• What error code is indicated on the LCD?
• AC line voltage
• DC line voltage
• Check GFDI Fuse
• Can you reproduce the failure? If yes, how?
• Has this problem occurred in the past?
• What were the operating conditions when the problem occurred?
