8. When the fan is clean, reinstall it using the above steps in reverse order.
9. Do not blow air through the fan or the fan screen while the fan is still mounted
in the Sunny Boy.
Testing the Fan
You can verify the operation of the fan in two ways:
• Set the parameter “Fan Test“ to “1“ (with Sunny Data, Sunny Data Control or with the
data logger Sunny Boy Control).
or
• Turn off the inverter by turning off the AC disconnect and then the DC disconnect
(switch the SMA DC-Disconnect to the "0" position) and wait 5 minutes for any
residual voltages to dissipate.
• Once the LED’s are off, remove the cover and set the jumpers as shown in Figure
9-1.
• Turn on the inverter by turning on the AC disconnect and then the DC disconnect
(switch the SMA DC-Disconnect to the "1" position).
• After testing the fans, remove the jumpers.
