8.1. CLEANING OUT THE SEAT TUBE
Over time, dirt accumulation in the seat tube may restrict the movement of the framepost.
Check every 50 hours of riding to make sure the inside of the seat tube is clear of dirt buildup.
If your framepost is no longer functioning properly due to impacted dirt in the seat tube, follow
the instructions below to loosen and remove the framepost so you can clean out your seat
tube:
If you don’t have the tools to check/clean the seat tube yourself or if you feel
uncomfortable doing so, please contact your Authorized Specialized Retailer.
Remove the tendon followed by the framepost boot.
Pour water into the frame to moisten the impacted dirt.
Slowly rock the framepost back and forth to loosen the dirt.
Once the framepost is loose, you can remove it and clean all components and seat tube
thoroughly (see section 7.6 CHANGING THE FRAMEPOST for steps on how to remove/
change out the framepost).
8.2. REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES
