7. FRAMEPOST
WARNING! Due to the high degree of complexity of the Diverge STR system,
proper assembly requires a high degree of mechanical expertise, skill, training,
and specialty tools. If you do not feel comfortable assembling and/or removing
the framepost, see an Authorized Specialized Retailer.
7.1. HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR FRAMEPOST
Your Diverge STR comes with two frameposts that provide four stiffness options based on the
type of ride you want (stiffer or softer). There are several variables to consider when making
your selection. Rider weight and personal preference have the largest impact on framepost
selection, while frame size, saddle height and setback, and riding style have smaller impacts.
While most riders will be satisfied by one of the four stiffness options included with each
bicycle, additional options are available for riders outside of the included range and for those
who want to fine tune the stiffness within the included range. The following tables will help you
tailor your ride.
The first table shows the optimal weight range and two stiffness settings for each framepost.
The second table shows framepost compatibility for each frame size. Frameposts included
with each frame size are noted. Compatible frameposts are available online or through your
Authorized Specialized Retailer.
For more on how to change the stiffness levels of your framepost, see section
7.3.
