If this pressure remains constant,
the carburetor is airtight. However, if
it drops, there are two possible
causes:
1. The inlet needle is not sealing
(foreign matter in valve seat or
sealing cone of inlet needle is
damaged or inlet control lever
sticking).
2. Metering diaphragm is damaged.
In either of these cases the
carburetor has to be serviced.
– After completing the test, open
the vent screw (1) and pull the
fuel line off the carburetor.
– Push the fuel hose onto the
elbow connector.
Assemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.
– Use a new gasket if necessary.
– Remove the air filter - b 8.1
: Unscrew the nuts (1).
: Pull the manifold (2) with flange
off the carburetor.
: Pull the manifold out of the

handle housing (arrow).
: Disconnect fuel hoses from
elbow connectors on carburetor.

: Pull the carburetor forwards and
take the throttle cable out of the
spacer flange (arrow) at the same
time.
– Disconnect the throttle cable
from the slotted pin on the throttle
lever.

– Remove the gasket from behind
the carburetor.
Install in the reverse sequence.
Always use new gaskets when
installing the gaskets.
– Position the fuel hoses so that
they are not kinked.
– Observe tightening torques
