: Inspect the metering diaphragm
and gasket, and replace if
necessary - b 8.4.2
Assemble in the reverse sequence.

– Remove the flange on manual
fuel pump with square end cover
- b 8.4.1
: Remove the metering
diaphragm (1) and gasket (2)
from the carburetor body.

If the gasket and diaphragm are
stuck to the carburetor, remove and
separate them very carefully.
: Inspect the diaphragm and
gasket and replace if necessary.
The diaphragm is a very delicate
component. As a result of the
alternating stresses the material
eventually shows signs of fatigue,
i.e. the diaphragm distorts and
swells and has to be replaced.
Assemble in the reverse sequence.
: Place the gasket (1) on the
carburetor body.
Line up the hole in the gasket (2)
with the compensating bore in the
carburetor.

: Place the metering

Line up the hole in the metering
diaphragm (1) with the
compensating bore in the
carburetor and the gasket.

Reassemble as described in
