: Pull off the shroud (1), lifting it
clear of the driver (arrow) at the
same time.

: Take out the screws (1).
: Pull the gearbox (2) off the
engine.

Install in the reverse sequence
: As the recesses (1) are different,
the rotary knob (2) can only be
fitted one way in the driver.

– Remove the gearbox - b 9.1
: Take out the screws (1) and
separate thr right and left-hand
gearbox housings.

: Inspect right-hand gearbox
housing (1) with shafts (2+3) and
components, ball bearings,
gears, clutch drum (4), for signs
of damage.

: Inspect left-hand gearbox
housing (1) with shaft (2) and
components, ball bearings,
gears, oil seal (3), shift fork (4),
for signs of damage.
If only parts in one gearbox housing
are defective, only that half of the
