Fault:
Engine not starting
Possible cause:
– On/Off switch set to Off position
– No fuel in tank; blocked fuel line
– Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank
– Spark plug socket detached from spark 
plug; ignition lead not properly fastened 
to socket
– Dirty or damaged spark plug; incorrect 
electrode gap
– Dirty oil bath air filter
– Engine flooded due to several starting 
attempts
Remedy:
– Set On/Off switch to On position (Ö 8.1)
– Fill fuel tank (Ö 7.15);
Clean fuel lines (#)
– Use fresh, good quality fuel (unleaded 
petrol) (Ö 7.15);
Clean carburettor (#)
– Connect spark plug socket ();
Check connection between ignition lead 
and socket (#)
– Clean/replace spark plug (), (#);
Adjust electrode gap (#)
– Clean/replace oil bath air filter (), (#)
– Remove spark plug and dry, set On/Off 
switch to Off position and pull recoil 
starter rope repeatedly with the spark 
plug removed ()
