MAINTENANCE AND TUNE-UP PROCEDURES
This section describes servicing procedures for each periodic
maintenance requirement.
ENGINE OIL/ENGINE OIL FILTER
ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK
1. Place outboard motor upright on a level surface.
2. Remove motor cover.
3. Remove oil level dipstick and wipe it clean.
4. Reinsert dipstick fully into dipstick tube, then remove to
check oil level.
5. Oil level should be between full level Max. mark (hole) and
low level Min. mark (hole).
If level is low, add recommended oil to full level hole (Max.).
Recommended oil:
• 4 stroke motor oil
• API classification SE, SF, SG, SH, SJ
• Viscosity rating SAE 10W-40
Inspect oil level before every use.
