Muffler
Removal
1. Remove the springs that secure the muffler to
the exhaust manifold . (See Figure 3-13.)

3 - 34 AIR INTAKE SILENCER
2. Remove the nuts and washers that secure the
muffler to the mounting brackets.
3. Remove the muff ler from the snowmobi le by
separating it
from the exhaust manifold flange,
and guiding outlet pipe out of exhaust outlet
boot.
Installation
Install the muffler by reversing the removal pro-
cedure.
Make sure the insulation washers are
properly positioned on each side of the muffler
brackets. (See Figure 3-14 .)
Air Intal<e Silencer
Removal
1. Remove the drive belt guard .
. 2. Disconnect the springs from the intake si len -
cer. Note position of long and short springs.
Remove the air intake
silencer from the snow -
mobile. Check the seal in between the upper
and
lower halves of the intake si lencer. If there
is any sign
of a possible air leak reseal the two
halves with silicone sealer. Install a new cable
tie band around the si l encer assembly to se-
curely fasten the cover to the si l encer body.
