When
adjusting
the
stator plate, take care
not
to
damage
the
coil windings.

Tighten
the
stator
plate
screws
and recheck
tim
in
g.
9.
When
the
ig
nit
ion
timing
is correct, remove
the
timing
light
and replace
the
recoil starter.

pointer
onto

engine

.) For accuracy, it is im

to

the poin

r can move w
ith
the
engine on its
mounting
system.

Remove
the
spark
plug
from
the
RH
cyli
nder
and
install
a dial indicator
in
to
th
e
RH
cylinder
spark
p lug hole.
3. Rotate the
dr
ive
converter
in the n
ormal
direction
of
rotation
(count
erclockwise)
to fi nd
TOC. Rotate
the
drive
converter
cl
ockwise
to
0.073
in
.

mm)

TOC
.
Mark
the
drive
converter
opposite
the
timing
pointer.
