Spring Pre-load Adjustment
1. Place a block under the chas-
sis tube.
2. Remove the muffler and seat
rail assembly.
(Refer to Service Manual)
3. Loosen the lock bolt 1 with
the special tool.
4. Turn the adjuster 2 clockwise
or counterclockwise to change
the spring pre-load.

When compressed to 5.5
mm (0.22 in) from spring
free length
[Standard]:
234.5 mm (9.232 in)
Spring set length
adjustable range:
226 – 237 mm (8.90 – 9.33 in)

5. After adjusting the spring pre-
load, position the spring
adjuster lock 3 as shown in
the figure and tighten the
spring adjuster lock bolt 1 to
the specified torque.
Spring adjuster lock bolt:
5.0 N·m (0.51 kgf-m, 3.70 lbf-ft)
NOTICE
Turning the adjuster

loosening the lock bolt

can
damage the rear cushion unit.
Turn the adjuster after loosen-
ing the lock bolt.
