Installation
20.Install the oil strainer No.1 A.
Tighten the oil strainer cap 0
to the specified torque.
Engine oil strainer cap:
21 N·m (2.1 kgf-m, 15.5 lbf-ft)
21.Install the oil strainer No.2 I.
Tighten the oil pump No.2
bolts to the specified torque.
Oil pump No.2 bolt:
11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
22.Install the generator cover F.
Tighten the generator cover
bolts to the specified torque.
Generator cover bolt:
11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
23.Install the gear shift lever and
protector under the engine.
24.Pour fresh oil through the filler
hole. Approximately 1100 ml
(1.2 US qt) will be required.
NOTE: About 1050 ml (1.1 US qt)
of oil will be required when chang-
ing oil only.
25.Tighten the oil filler cap.
26.Start the engine and allow it to
idle for three minutes. Check
to see that no oil is leaking
from the oil filter cap.
27.Check the oil level according
to ENGINE OIL LEVEL
CHECK procedure.
NOTICE
Engine damage may occur if
you use oil that does not meet
Suzuki’s specifications.
Be sure to use the oil specified
in the FUEL, OIL AND ENGINE
COOLANT RECOMMENDA-
TIONS section.
