INSPECTION
• Inspect the bearing races for wear.
• Inspect the needle bearings for wear.
• Inspect the steering stem for distortion.
BEARING REPLACEMENT
NOTE:
Replace the outer race and bearing as a set.
• Remove the upper and lower outer races with the special
tools.
09941-54911: Steering race remover
09941-74911: Steering bearing installer
• Remove the lower bearing.
• Install the lower bearing to the steering stem using a suitable
size spacer.
• Install the upper and lower outer races with the special tools.
09941-34513: Steering outer race and swingarm
bearing installer
CAUTION
* Press-fit the bearing by pressing the inner race A.
* Do not press the cage B of the bearing.
