Rollshutter Installation Instructions, 23

curtain will begin to bunch-up inside the panel box. However, our tests and experience show that this does not pose a
problem. After the motor has shut off, run the curtain back "up", close the window, and the Rollshutter will operate
fine. It will not incur damage inside the panel box because the amount the curtain bunches up is too little.
Changing the CS motor memory:
Under normal circumstances, the memory of an installed CS motor will never need to be changed. However, if the
down limit is initially set incorrectly, or the motor will be changed to another panel box, this is how to proceed.
(1) Operate the Rollshutter in the "up" direction. When the curtain reaches the midway point, grab the bottom
profile by hand and quickly apply a vigorous tug so that the motor shuts off on its own.
Note: it is the suddenness of the applied hand pressure, not the pressure itself, which is most important. The
motor will continue if the pressure is not applied suddenly enough.
(2) After the motor stops, switch to "down" for about 2" (5cm) of curtain travel, then continue back "up" until the
motor impacts at the top and shuts itself off automatically. The motor is now ready for accepting a new memory
for the "down" limit. Run the curtain up and down three times consecutively to set the new "down" limit, as
above when the Rollshutter was first installed.
Problem: During installation, pressure was applied the wrong way or the motor was switched inadvertently to the
"down" direction.
Solution: There is no cause for concern. Simply repeat the procedure in the correct manner as shown in the directions.
Problem: The curtain rolls up completely and keeps on rolling without stopping at the top.
Explanation: The mechanical stoppers were not attached. Return to section 14 and attach the mechanical stoppers. The
function of the stoppers is to impact with the panel box in order to transfer pressure to the motor and make it stop.
Surface stoppers impact with the bottom lid of the panel box. Therefore, ensure that the panel box lid is temporarily
attached as in Section 18 before running the unit up.
13.2) General Notes For All Motor Types: Run the Rollshutter up and down at least twice. The limits take some setting
into place and may move slightly during that procedure. The limits may need to be readjusted again slightly. After that
is done, there will be no more adjustments necessary.
Some Common Problems Encountered During Limit Setting
Problem: The motor stops and will not move under any circumstances.
Explanation: The motor has overheated. The internal thermal protection switch has cut off power and will restore it
automatically in 10 to 45 minutes, depending on the surrounding temperature. Motors are designed to run for short
intervals only. During limit switch adjustments they tend to be operated almost continuously and can overheat. The
motor is not harmed by being overheated. While waiting for the reset make sure that power to the motor has been
shut off, or it will reactivate unexpectedly.
Problem: The limit switch stops the motor at a markedly different position (more than 1" or 25mm difference) every
time it is checked. Trying to adjust it seems not to help. Sometimes it appears to be in order but a few days later the
customer reports that it has moved again.
Explanation: This very frustrating problem has only one cause. The limit switch was slightly damaged during initial
adjustment most commonly due to ignoring the warnings shown in the section on turnable limit switches. This problem
will get worse with time. Eventually the limit will be lost altogether. The motor needs to be replaced. Contact the
factory.
Problem: The Rollshutter comes to a stop at the upper limit. Soon afterwards the click that the unit normally makes
when it shuts off is heard, once or several times.
Explanation: A faulty brake in the motor lets the Rollshutter slide down slightly, almost unnoticeably. The limit switch
eventually gets released and supplies the motor with power, provided the tester cable or switching mechanism has
