closer than 3" (75mm) to either end of the guide rail.
Note: If the Rollshutter is equipped with two-piece safe guide rails, pre-drilling is not required, and holes
may be drilled in the mounting channel at any location without the concern of being symmetrical with
the opposite rail. The example below shows a number of possible mounting locations.
Section5: Mounting Rails and Panel Box
In this section the framework will be attached to the opening. Note that some guide rails are not symmetrical and carry
a removable warning decal showing which end of each guide rail is "up and front"
5.1) Guide Rail Mounting: Slide the panel box endplate legs into the guide rails. Be careful not to twist the panel box with
the rails since the legs of the end plates might get broken. To attach the rails to the opening, start at the top of the rails
and install only one screw at the top of each rail. After the top screw is in, level one rail and then complete installing
the screws on that rail, working from top to bottom. Before continuing to install the second rail, measure to ensure that
the width of the opening between the rails is the same at the top, middle and bottom, and that they are vertical. Then
continue installing screws from top to bottom on the second rail.
Watch out for these conditions:
Rollshutter equipped with any automatic, manual or key lock: The guide rails will be modified in some ways, making right and
left rail not interchangeable. They will be equipped with notches or ribbed plates attached inside the channel at one end.
Notches for slide locks should always be at the bottom of the guide rail when the framework is attached, and the ribbed
plates should always be at the top. Look for a removable warning decal showing which end is "up and front" to ensure
that the notches or ribbed plates are at the correct end. Some guide rails are not symmetrical inside the hollow
chamber. When attaching the guide rail onto the end plates, the back of the panel box will be flush with most guide rails.
If not, interchanging the right and left guide rail may be necessary. Refer to lock section before proceeding.
