The oil separation system features 4 inlets with taps allowing for the
simultaneous use of several probes.
7 Using the probes
WARNING!
Pay special attention when positioning the gas sampling
probes: exhaust temperatures can be very high.
Wear suitable protective gloves!
If the exhaust internal diameter ranges from 12 to 20 mm, insert the probe by
at least 100 mm; if the exhaust internal diameter is larger than 20 mm, insert
the probe by at least 200 mm.
Given the peculiar conformation of the exhaust piping, when the exhaust
internal diameter is smaller than 12 mm or if the previous conditions do not
occur, the exhaust must be extended with the metal extension indicated in
Figure 6.
Fig.6
In this case, make sure that the connection is leakproof and that the probe is
inserted in the extension by at least 300 mm.
WARNING!
An incorrectly connected probe will sample gases
mixed with external air and alter the measurement.
The special probe for two-stroke engines is equipped with a clamp specially
designed to grip on the outer side of the exhaust (see Figure 7, Figure 8 and
Figure 9).
