7 Carrying out a measurement

7.7.1 Carrying out temperature measurement
A thermocouple is aached to the thermocouple adapter.
1. Switch instrument on: set rotary switch to (testo 770-2/-3 (0590 7703))
resp. (testo 770-3 (0590 3770)).
- The instrument switches on.
- The instrument is in AUTO V / AUTO µA mode
2. Connect the thermocouple (adapter) to the instrument:
plug the thermocouple (adapter) into the jack. Ensure correct polarity!
- The thermocouple adapter switches on automacally.
3. Acvate temperature measurement: press [ ] >2 s.
- The measured values are shown on the LC display in °C and °F.
7.8 Inrush current (INRUSH)
The inrush funcon is an approximaon funcon. This means that
readings can dier from one another.
1. Switch instrument on: set rotary switch to .
- The instrument switches on.
- The instrument is in AUTO A mode (testo 770-1/-2/-3 (0590 7703)) resp.
A AC mode (testo 770-3 (0590 3770)).
2. Enclose the live conductor and centre it in the jaws.
3. Acvate inrush current calculaon: press [ ] <1 s.
- The measured value is shown on the LC display.
4. Restart inrush current calculaon: press [ ] <1 s.
- The measured value is shown on the LC display.
5. Exit inrush current calculaon and switch back to AUTO A mode
(testo 770-1/-2/-3 (0590 7703)) resp. A AC mode (testo 770-3 (0590 3770)):
press [ ] >2 s.
