SYMPTOMS
Engine starts but runs
unevenly.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Fuel line not bled after
running out of fuel.
Water in fuel or plugged fuel
filter.
Engine air intake restricted.
SOLUTION
Purge air from fuel
line. (See decal
or Page 12.)
Replace fuel filter.
Clean or replace
air filter.
CHECK FOR
Air in fuel line.
Water in fuel bowl. Dirty fuel
filter.
Dirty air filter.
Engine overheating Air flow through radiator
restricted.
Low coolant.
Clean screen.
Clean radiator
core. (See
instructions on
Page 13.)
See engine
manual.
Repair as
required.
Replace hose.
Plugged air screen.
Plugged radiator core.
Coolant level in surge tank.
Collapsed or leaking hose
between surge tank and
radiator.
Damaged radiator hose.
Cutterdeck shuts down
without being turned off.
Engine overheating.
Open wiring circuit.

Replace fuse/
determine cause
for burned fuse
and repair as
required.

Blown 20 Amp fuse.
Engine shuts down
immediately when
operator raises from seat.
Gauges/Indicators not
functioning.
Time delay module, fuel shut
off timer.
Open wiring circuit.
Check and tighten
all terminals/delay
module/timer.
Check and tighten
all terminals.
Replace fuse/
determine cause
for burned fuse
and repair as
required.
Replace bulbs
Loose wire harness terminals/
module/timer.
Loose wiring terminals or
damaged electrical wiring.
Blown 10 amp fuse.
Burned out bulbs.
Tractor does not respond
to movement of control
levers.
Hydraulic oil bypassing
pumps.
Low level of hydraulic oil.
Close tow valves.
Add hydraulic oil/
Determine cause
for oil loss.
Open tow valve(s).
Level of hydraulic oil in
reservoir.
