ASSEMBLY AND SETUP
2. Set tire pressures to 14 psi. Tires are overinflated for shipping.
3. LEVEL CUTTERDECK AND ADJUST COUNTER-
BALANCE SPRINGS
– Side Discharge: The front of a side discharge
deck should be slightly lower than the rear.
– Mulching: The front of a mulching deck should
be slightly higher than the rear.
To level deck:
a) Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. The
deck may be set to any cutting height.
b) Place a level on the deck, from front to rear. If the
level is too short to reach all the way from front to
rear, lay a straight edge on the deck first, then
place the level on the straight edge.
c) Lay a 1/8" spacer beneath the front of the level for
the side discharge and under the rear for mulch-
ing.
d) Adjust nuts M until the level's bubble is centered.
Repeat for the other side of the deck.
Adjust Counterbalance springs: (52" & 61" DECKS ONLY)
The counterbalance springs are adjusted to a length of 13-1/4" with the deck raised all the way. The springs
may be tightened or loosened from this print with nut N according to personal preference
