The inlet gasses hardware controls the flow of damping gas, sheath gas,
auxiliary gas, sweep gas, and air (during venting) into the MS detector. The
inlet gasses hardware includes the following components:
• Vent gas valve
• Damping gas inlet assembly
• Sheath gas valve
• Auxiliary gas valve
• Sweep gas valve
A functional block diagram of the vacuum system and inlet gasses hardware
is shown in Figure 2-13.
