WARNING
The automatic locking retractor (ALR) mode should NOT be
used when using a booster seat with the safety belts.
Follow these steps to install a booster
seat:
1. Move the seat to the rearmost
position.
2. Position the booster seat on the
front passenger in a front-facing
direction. Always follow the
booster seat manufacturer’s
instructions.
3. Ensure that the seat is stable. If necessary, adjust the head
restraint.
4. Position the lap portion of the safety belt low and snug on
the child’s hips.
5. Pull the shoulder belt portion of the safety belt toward the
retractor to take up extra slack.
6. Ensure the shoulder belt is positioned across the top,
middle portion of the child’s shoulder.
7. Insert the tongue of the belt securely into the buckle.

fastening a safety belt shown in the Safety Belts section on
page 415.
